Project 77 Scholarship Program Selection Process

The P77 Scholarship shall be open to all incoming and enrolled students of Meridian in the following levels:

a. Pre-school
b. Elementary (Grades 1-6)
c. High School (Grades 7-10)
d. Senior High School (Grades 11-12)

Applicants shall submit the following requirements to the Screening Committee for evaluation:

a. Duly-accomplished application form

b. A personal essay revolving on these premises:
What are your motivations for applying for the scholarship program?
What life circumstances do you have that you think will qualify you for the grant?
Describe your study habits and how it will help you achieve success in your studies?
If you are granted a scholarship, in what way do you plan to pay it forward?
In case of pre-school to Grade 2 applicants, parents shall be allowed to write the essay.

c. Recommendation from a BOL Life Coach (what if from outside BOL?)

d. A copy of the applicant’s progress report from the previous school year (Can we add recommendation letters from the adviser and guidance counselor? This will give us an idea of the child’s beyond academics performance. The teachers can attest to the child’s character.)

e. Certificate of Indigency from Barangay, Proof of Income or Income Tax Return

Applicants shall be invited for interview by the Screening Committee. The Screening Committee shall be composed of the following:

a. BOL Life Coach
b. BOL Life Coach
c. BOL Life Coach
d. Member 1
e. Member 2
f. Member 3

A point system* shall be used in evaluating the applications based on the following criteria:

a. Academic Potential…………….15pts (GWA, Achievements, Awards, Essay, etc.)
b. Economic Profile…………………15pts (Family Income, No. of Siblings, type of dwelling, etc.)
c. Interview………………………………5pts TOTAL …………………………………….35pts

The scholarship shall be enjoyed by the grantee for one school year and may be extended subject to his/her academic performance and availability of funds.

Only one (1) grantee per family shall be allowed to avail the scholarship to give wider opportunity to other applicants.

A general Weighted Average of ____ shall be maintained by the grantee to continue enjoying his/her scholarship.

A support system shall be developed by P77 to assist the grantees in the course of their studies.

A scholarship agreement shall be signed by the grantee, the parent/guardian and a P77 representative.
